Do you accept submissions in x medium?
Due to the large volume of submissions received for each open call, it may take us up to 5 weeks to review each submission and come to final decisions. All applicants will be notified of their final results within this time frame.
When will I find out about my submission results?

We tend to keep our themes broad to accommodate a breadth of mediums, narratives and perspectives. We welcome work from anyone—no matter your background, experience, or age—and never charge a submission fee.
Is this a paid opportunity?
Since we receive no outside funding, are an ad-free publication, do small print runs, and typically feature up to 30 contributors per issue, our proceeds are too limited to be able to pay each artist. Instead, we donate the funds to small arts organizations in alignment with our publication.
Can I submit work that has already been published?
So long as it does not conflict the rules of the publication this work is featured in, your submission is welcome!
Once published in art & type, can I republish the same work?
We believe all works submitted to belong soley to the artist/contributor. We do not claim any rights to your work and we welcome you to reprint your work as you see fit.
